Ruth le Cheminant

Ruth studied art at the National Art School, Sydney 1968 to 1972. Ruth completed the Graduate Diploma of Visual Arts, University of New South Wales, Sydney in 1991.

Ruth has had many solo exhibitions having just completed in March 2010 a solo exhibition at Global Gallery in Paddington and will have a solo exhibition at Nolan on Lovel Gallery in Katoomba in July, 2010.

She was invited to exhibit in a group exhibition ‘Out From Down Under & Beyond: Fine Art from Australia and New Zealand’ at Agora Gallery, Chelsea, New York in May 2009 and subsequent to that her paintings were displayed in the foyer of the William Morris Agency, New York for 3 months from July to August 2009.

Other high lights include the solo exhibitions ‘The Intuitive journey’ at Washhouse Gallery Rozelle, Sydney in May 2008, ‘Taking the Long Way’ at Gallery HM Sydney 2007, exhibitions 2006 and 2000 at Orange Regional Gallery in country New South Wales.

The travels Ruth has undertaken in Australia and overseas has been an inspiration for her work and will continue to be in the future. She will undertake a residency at The Art Vault in Mildura, Victoria in June 2010. Other highlights for Ruth have been  attending a 6 day artist camp in the West MacDonald Ranges Northern Territory in 2006 and as artist in residency at Bundanon in 2005.

Ruth lives in the Blue Mountains just west of Sydney in NSW, Australia. She exhibits regularly in solo and group exhibitions in Sydney, Australia and internationally.
